Father-Jonathan Morris

Heavenly Father, on this Friday -- the day you died -- I am pausing to
Remember the cross of Christ and to thank you
For your son Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God,
Who chose to suffer and
die upon a cross
For me.
I wish to not just wear a cross,
Or to have it adorn my wall as decoration,
but I am praying that the cross
of Christ will become one with my heart
And spirit,
That I will live and breathe the death
Of Christ within me, as well as his
Glorious resurrection.
I look to Jesus' death on the cross --
In his holy and shed blood --
To not only forgive me of my sins,
But to also grant me the ability
To live a victorious and bountiful
Help me to believe and live the words of
St. Paul, "I have been crucified with Christ
And I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith
In the Son of God, who loved me and
Gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20)

Lord, you pour out blessings and lovingkindness on me before I can even ask. And you offer more than I could even conceive of asking. -King David, Psalm 21
